Westridge recycle as much as possible from the waste that comes in over our weighbridge from both residential and commercial outlets.

These materials include:

  • Cardboard
  • Paper
  • Plastic (including uPVC)
  • Scrap (Both ferrous and non-ferrous metals)
  • Inert (bricks, blocks , soil, clay and sand)
  • Wood

Most of this material is transported off the Island by Westridge themselves and taken to various outlets on the mainland for recycling. The Inert materials are tipped on site at Westridge depot, Lynn Pitt Transfer Station, which has it’s own inert landfill site. For more information on this particular aspect please see HERE.

For information on how the mixed waste stream is segregated please see our storyboard.

Westridge endeavor to create new recycling outlets so as to recycle as high a percentage as possible of the waste that comes through our doors. The waste industry is one of constant evolution and we do our best to keep up with the times so as to provide a cost effective solution to waste disposal on the Isle of Wight.
